Tangy Yogurt Curry with Fried Dumplings

Introduction
Kadhi-Bari is a traditional Bihari dish featuring spiced yogurt-based curry and soft gram flour dumplings. It’s light, comforting, and tangy.
- Ingredients:
For Bari:
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- Salt
- Ajwain
- Water
- Oil for frying
For Kadhi:
- 2 cups curd
- 2 tbsp besan
- ½ tsp turmeric
- Salt
- Mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
- 1 dried red chili
- Instructions:
- Mix besan with water, salt, and ajwain. Fry small spoonfuls into dumplings.
- Whisk curd with besan, turmeric, and water.
- Heat oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and red chili.
- Add curd mixture and simmer.
- Add dumplings and cook for 10–15 minutes.
Pro Tip:
Soak fried baris in warm water for a few minutes before adding to kadhi for softer texture.
Serving Suggestions:
Enjoy hot with rice, papad, or paratha.

Kadhi-Bari is especially popular during summers when lighter meals are preferred in Bihari households.
