Steamed Spiced Lentil Dumplings

Introduction
Bafauri is a healthy, oil-free snack made from chana dal and steamed with aromatic spices. It’s a popular diet-friendly delicacy in Chhattisgarhi households.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup chana dal (soaked 4 hours)
- 1 onion, 1 green chili
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- ¼ tsp turmeric, chili powder
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Grind soaked dal into a coarse paste.
- Mix with spices, onion, herbs.
- Shape into small dumplings. Steam for 15–20 mins.
Pro Tips
- Don’t make the paste too fine or it’ll get soggy.
- You can shallow fry leftovers for a crispy version.
