Steamed Sweet Dumplings for Ganesha

Introduction
Ukadiche Modak is an iconic sweet dumpling offered to Lord Ganesha, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi. Made of rice flour, coconut, and jaggery, it is revered as Ganesha’s favorite.
- Preparing the Dough
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp ghee
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Boil water with ghee and salt.
- Add rice flour, stir quickly. Cover and let cool.
- Knead into a soft dough.
- Coconut-Jaggery Filling
Ingredients:
- 1 cup grated coconut
- ¾ cup jaggery
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
Instructions:
- Cook coconut and jaggery until dry and sticky. Add cardamom.
- Shaping & Steaming
- Shape dough into cups, fill with coconut mixture, and seal.
- Steam for 10–12 minutes.

- Knead dough while still warm to avoid cracks.
- Grease palms lightly while shaping.
Serving Suggestions
- Best served warm with a drizzle of ghee.
