Introduction

Pithale Bhakri is a rustic combo of spicy gram flour curry (pithale) and jowar bhakri, once a staple for Maharashtrian farmers. It’s nutritious, gluten-free, and full of earthy flavor.

Ingredients (Pithale):

  • 1 cup besan
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, minced
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves, turmeric
  • Salt, water, oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves, add onions, chilies.
  2. Mix besan with water to make a lump-free slurry.
  3. Add turmeric and pour slurry into pan. Stir continuously.
  4. Cook until it thickens to a smooth, soft paste.

  • Stir well to prevent lumps.
  • Adjust thickness as per taste.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve hot with bhakri, green chili thecha, and raw onion.
