Bafla Bati

A Malwa-region delicacy Origin: Madhya Pradesh

Introduction
A Malwa-region delicacy — wheat dough balls boiled in water, baked, and then drenched in ghee, served with dal.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat flour
  • Ghee
  • Ajwain, salt
  • Dal (pigeon pea or mixed lentils)

Instructions:

  1. Make stiff dough with wheat flour, ajwain, and ghee.
  2. Shape into balls and boil in salted water till they float.
  3. Bake or roast till golden.
  4. Dip in ghee and serve with dal.

Pro Tips:

  • Boiling before baking makes them soft inside and crisp outside.
  • Always serve hot with generous ghee.

Eaten with spicy dal and chutney.
