Temple Rice & Jaggery Pudding Origin:

Introduction

A famed prasadam in Kerala, especially at Sabarimala and Onam festivals, made of rice ada, jaggery, and coconut milk.

  1. Preparing Rice Ada
    Ingredients:
  • 1 cup rice ada (cut rice flakes)

Instructions:

  • Cook ada in 2 cups water until soft.

  1. Adding Jaggery
    Ingredients:
  • 1 cup jaggery syrup (dissolved & strained)

Instructions:

  • Stir jaggery into cooked ada.

  1. Finishing Touches
    Ingredients:
  • 2 cups thick coconut milk

  • 2 tbsp ghee-fried cashews & raisins

  • Cardamom powder

Instructions:

  • Add coconut milk and simmer gently. Top with nuts and cardamom.

  1. Serving Suggestions
  • Serve warm or at room temperature in temple bowls.
