Introduction
Babru is a Himachali deep-fried snack made from wheat flour and sweet black gram filling. It is often offered during temple rituals and festivals like Dussehra.
- Preparing the Dough
Ingredients:
- 1 cup wheat flour
- Water to knead
Instructions:
- Knead soft dough and let rest 20 minutes.
- Preparing Filling
Ingredients:
- ½ cup black urad dal (soaked & ground)
- 2 tbsp jaggery
- Fennel and cardamom
Instructions:
- Mix ground dal with jaggery and spices. Cook till thick.
- Frying
- Fill small dough balls with mixture, roll and deep-fry until golden.
