Lentil-Based Light Broth Origin: Pan-India

Introduction

A simple, comforting soup made by boiling lentils with mild spices — light, filling, and protein-packed.

Ingredients:

– ½ cup yellow moong dal

– 1 tomato

– 1 tsp cumin

– ½ tsp turmeric

– Ginger (grated)

– Salt

 Instructions:

  1. Boil dal with turmeric and tomato.
  2. Blend lightly.
  3. Temper cumin and ginger in ghee.
  4. Pour over soup and simmer.
