Introduction
Fada Lapsi is a wholesome sweet dish made from broken wheat, jaggery, and ghee, commonly offered in Jain temples and during auspicious occasions like Diwali and pujas.
- Cooking the Base
Ingredients:
- ½ cup broken wheat (dalia/fada)
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 2 cups hot water
Instructions:
- Roast fada in ghee until golden.
- Add hot water and cook till soft.
- Adding Sweetness
Ingredients:
- ½ cup jaggery
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp chopped nuts
Instructions:
- Mix jaggery into cooked wheat and simmer.
- Add cardamom and garnish with nuts.

- Use a thick-bottomed pan to prevent sticking.
- Adjust jaggery based on sweetness preference.
