Tamarind Rice Temple Mix Origin: Karnataka

Introduction
Pulikutt is Pulihora’s Udupi version, a tangy rice mixed with yogurt and mildly tempered in temple canteens.

  1. Mixing Rice
    Ingredients:
  • 3 cups cooked rice

  • ¼ cup tamarind juice

Instructions:

  • Mix rice and tamarind thoroughly.

  1. Tempering
    Ingredients:
  • Mustard, urad/chana dal, dried red chili, curry leaves, asafoetida

Instructions:

  • Temper in oil and mix with rice.

  1. Serving Suggestions
  • Offered as part of puja meals in Udupi and Sringeri temples.
